Team Rubicon | Built to Serve | Capabilities

Service, to us, is more than a mission—it’s a mindset. As the climate crisis rages on, epidemics spread, and global conflict persists, we have to embrace that mindset now more than ever, and do everything we can to give everyone a chance to recover. We are there before, during, and after disaster strikes.

Team Rubicon Canada is an international non-profit disaster response organization that unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy volunteers, free of charge, to communities affected by disasters. We currently maintain a roster of over 180,000 North American volunteers able to deploy throughout Canada and the world.

Big or Small, We’re Here to Serve.

Team Rubicon deploys where help is needed, whether it’s a single flooded ranch across town or a wildfire-stricken village 10,000 miles away. While the media focuses on the most sensational stories, we turn our attention to our most vulnerable neighbors and our greatest opportunities to rebuild and reinforce communities.

Team Rubicon Canada stands ready to deploy resources in the following timeframes:

Team Rubicon Canada maintains complete records of volunteers, hours worked, and work-orders so as to assist local, Provincial, national, and indigenous communities.

All incident management personnel are trained in the application of Incident Command System (ICS) in compliance with ICS Canada and the US National Incident Management System (NIMS). Volunteers are trained in the basics of ICS. Team Rubicon deploys as a self-sustaining unit.

All services are provided free of charge.

A lot of homes Team Rubicon Canada has serviced may not have had home insurance coverage for damages. Most extreme weather events and humanitarian crises disproportionately affect vulnerable populations. Wildfires, tornadoes, and severe thunderstorms commonly devastate areas with households that earned on average less than the average Canadian median income. It is easy to imagine the positive, long-term impact Team Rubicon’s free assistance provided to these families.
